I was born and raised in Harlan County, Kentucky. I now reside in Indiana, where I have spent the better part of my life. Most of my visitors probably are not interested in "about me" just ignore what you want.
I am a high school graduate. I attended college, but became a college drop out, when my career selection to become a school teacher was not for me. I became a supervisor for a large food processing company, and worked there until I retired. After retirement I decided to build this web site to commemorate and pay tribute to the coal miner.
Why A Web Site About Coal Miners?
I was raised in a coal camp and my father worked 43 years in a coal mine. I experienced the danger, hardships, and the hard dirty work my father and the other workers had to endure each day.The miners trapped underground in Pennsylvania certainly is an illustration of the dangers the miners face each day. This site is about coal mining, it is my small way of commemorating and paying tribute the coal miners of America
